IT Operations Committees (ITOCs)

Multiple Information Technology Operations Committees (ITOCs) exist.  These groups are responsible for ensuring the technical delivery of consortium-wide IT services such that they meet the needs of the colleges. In addition, they provide the ITSC with relevant information needed to provide oversight of the ITOC’s service area(s).  The ITOCs also provide the ITSC with detailed information as to how services interface with each college.

Membership typically, but not always, includes a representative from each of the colleges, TCCS, and sometimes the Library.  Representatives from institutions who are part of a service provider team for areas covered by an ITOC will all be non-voting on that ITOC.

Common activities of every ITOC for their areas of responsibility include:

  • Recommending service goals.
  • Reviewing and approving technical service changes that do not require ITSC approval (e.g. changes that are not user-visible and/or do not impact budgets).
  • Establishing technical performance metrics.
  • Regularly collecting input from users and stakeholders.
  • Coordinating change management and communications.
