The Data and Communications Networking ITOC is charged with ensuring the technical delivery of data and communications (telephony) networking services (hereafter collectively referred to as “networking services”) to The Claremont Colleges in ways that meet the standards required by the colleges.  This includes:

  • Ensuring networking services deliver what the colleges need in a manner they can support.
  • Collecting input from stakeholders and general users in order to advise TCC IT.
  • Providing input into how networking services are implemented by TCC IT.
  • Auditing networking services technical implementations to ensure compliance with relevant service level agreements (SLAs).

Recent activities include:

  • Unified Communications: Creating a vision document describing a new unified communications system to replace the current infrastructure that is nearing, or past, end of support and developing an approach for fulfilling the vision.
  • CINE Transition Project: Governing the transition of Claremont Intercampus Networking Effort (CINE) services from Harvey Mudd College (HMC) to The Claremont Colleges Services (TCCS) effective January 17, 2017.
  • RADIUS Proxy Implementation Project: Governing the migration of the shared wireless network RADIUS service hosted by Scripps to an alternative RADIUS proxy service hosted by TCC IT.
